find a penny, pick it up...
as i was walking down columbus avenue on my way to the grocery store today, i spotted a one dollar bill on the sidewalk. it was folded in half, a bit crumpled, as if someone had it in the side pocket of their pants and popped it out when reaching in there for whatever it is people stash in their pockets. so i did what any human being would do when they spot that green tinged paper in a public place: i picked it up, glanced around quickly, and kept walking. my first instinct was...did somebody plant that dollar bill there just to see how long it would take for someone to pick it? i always have in the back in my mind that people are behind the scenes running little experiments like that (i have no trust in people...everyone's always up to something). anyway, i didn't really need that dollar. i picked it up because i felt like i needed to. my second instinct was to give it away just as quickly as i picked it up. i didn't want to spend it, and kept thinking...i'm not the person who was supposed to pick this it up. i looked around for someone who needed it to no avail. so, i did the next thing that popped in my head: i folded it two more times and placed it neatly within the coin return of a nearby pay phone. i figured nobody really uses pay phones anymore...people in need are always checking 'em for spare change. well, next time someone does, they'll be pleasantly surprised. more change that a phone would ever return...

i alway think a rich person was just walking thier dog and the dog does a #2 and they don't have a bag to pick it up. so they use the "NYC Dollar Blanket Method"
